Polaroid PoGo

Polaroid PoGo

Once known as the Zink inkless mobile printer, the Polaroid PoGo is an inkless mobile printer. Its UK launch date was March 13, 2008. This particular printer had been in development stages for over ten years. The PoGo takes the need for a computer out of the equation for simple printing jobs.

Instead of a computer, the PoGo allows its users to print business card sized color photos directly from their mobile phones with a Bluetooth or from a digital camera with PictBridge. The PoGo utilizes thermal printing so there is no use for ink. Users instead use special Polaroid PoGo paper which is rather expensive at £3 for just 10 sheets.

Polaroid PoGo Once known as the Zink

Users instead use special Polaroid paper which is rather expensive at £ 3 for just 10 sheets. The whole printing process takes about 60 seconds from start to finish. The back of the printing paper is sticky so you can stick it just about anywhere you can think of.

The PoGo comes with a lithium-ion battery that unfortunately is only able to print around 15 images before you must recharge it.
Although the PoGo is an idea that many people like and were waiting to come along, it is a device that a lot are saying needs work. It does allow printing without a computer, but the battery does not last long enough to be much of a help.

The Polaroid PoGo is not easy to come by. There are only a select few places that you will find them. They are expensive and the paper to print from them is very expensive. The battery does not last long enough and you will definitely want to consider the possibility of buying more than one battery and keeping them both charged. Want to know more about the Polaroid? The Polaroid PoGo- What will they think of next?

The people at Polaroid have definitely got their heads working overtime. Yes, it is true that their latest attempt at a printer, the Polaroid PoGo was an idea a long time in the making.

It just goes to show that you can not always rush a good idea.
The PoGo was in the development stage for over ten years. In fact, it was very difficult indeed to come up with a sturdy enough device that was small enough to fit in a pocket that would be capable of printing pictures as you took them, no matter where you were.

Polaroid poGo accomplished the task and rather well might I add. Polaroid knew that the public would want this device so they worked on it until they were able to produce it in a manner where the general public would be able to afford it as well.

The Polaroid PoGo has a price tag of only £89.99. That makes it a device that many are able and willing to purchase. The one thing that is extremely nice about the Polaroid PoGo is that they made it with a rechargeable battery. Granted it will only do approximately 20 prints before you have to recharge but that is still a good deal.

Polaroid PoGo New Technology

Polaroid PoGo

Almost too good to be true

The Polaroid PoGo - Almost too Good to be True
The Polaroid PoGo is advancement in technology that seems to be almost too good to be true. I have never really been one to go with common opinion just because it is the popular thing to do. You might say I am somewhat of a pessimist or devils advocate.

When a new product comes along, I am the type of person that tries it out to see what is wrong with it. Even the most popular or highly awaited items I still look for the flaws. That having been said, let us take a look at the Polaroid PoGo.

The Polaroid PoGo is one simple ingenious invention. I mean really we all take pictures with our phones and with our digital cameras don’t we? How many times have you taken such pictures and wished you did not have to go home to print out copies on your computer? The PoGo makes that wish come true. It is a printer that works with you cell phone or your digital camera and does not, I repeat, does not need a computers assistance.

Now, as for the almost too good to be true part, let me explain. I am a firm believer that every single product has a flaw of some sort. With the PoGo, it did take me some time to come up with a flaw, I will admit, but the battery is less than desirable. Yes, it is rechargeable that is true but the amount of prints you get on a full battery is less than desirable. You either need to come up with a way for a spare fully charged battery or make sure you have a power source available.

Over all the Polaroid PoGo is an awesome creation. It took a need of many, a completely portable printer, and answered it with almost no flaw. Check it out for yourself. You will be glad you did.

ZINK Technology: A radically new way to print -- instantly

ZINK stands for Zero Ink - a new and simpler approach to printing where high quality, colorful, durable and affordable prints are magically created -- all without a drop of ink. The ZINK Technology, invented by ZINK Imaging, encompasses both the ZINK Paper and the intelligence embedded in every ZINK-enabled device. Over 100 patents and patents pending were generated in the development of this breakthrough technology.

The heart of this new "ZINK" category of printing is the ZINK Paper. The patented ZINK Paper is an advanced composite material with embedded yellow, magenta and cyan dye crystals, activated with 200 million heat pulses, in 30 seconds, in a single pass. With 100 billion crystals in a 2 x 3-inch print, the paper is 100-percent inkless. A ZINK-enabled printer uses heat to activate and colorize these crystals. Because there is no ink, every ZINK-enabled device has the unique benefits of being small, simple, elegant, and eco-friendly.

Polaroid is leveraging the ZINK Technology to bring a new family of digital instant products to the marketplace. The Polaroid Digital Instant Mobile Photo Printer is the first ZINK-enabled device available.
